PALM BEACH, FL– Acrobats flew – and dollars, too – at “Cirque du Palm Beach, Encore!”

The annual gala of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society‘s Palm Beach area chapter, held at the Mar-a-Lago Club, drew nearly 400 guests and raised more than $600,000 to fight blood cancer.

Geri and Frank Morrow chaired the event. Guests were treated to circus theatrics and fantastical décor, as well as a silent auction of items including a $40,000 black-and-white diamond necklace, VIP tickets to the celebrity-studded Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and the chance to be “Sheriff for a Day” offered by celebrity auctioneer Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.

Elizabeth Fago, chairman emeritus and recipient of the 2013 Outstanding Service Award, was honored at the gala with a special introduction by last year’s honoree and longtime LLS supporter Suzy Minkoff, who could not attend. Dick Robinson read her remarks.

Zachary Potter, 2012 LLS Man of the Year, spoke about his personal commitment to eradicating blood cancers and delivered a touching tribute to his father, who lost his battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2010. Other notable guests included Peter Brock, Bernard Garil and Kathryn Vecellio, and LLS National Board members and host chairs Melania and Donald Trump.
