Local Business Pros Raise More Than $300,000 for Cancer Research

WEST PALM BEACH, FLJason Brian and Jennifer Martin were named the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year, part of a 10-week effort that raised more than $300,000 in the fight against cancer.

The winners were announced at The Grand Finale Celebration Presented by Mercedes-Benz, with Meredith McDonough and Paul LaGrone from WPBF 25 News serving as masters of ceremony. The program was held at the Kravis Center’s Cohen Pavilion.

Martin, of Bodhi Hot Yoga, and Brian, of Autocricket.com, raised a combined total of more than $139,000.

The celebration began with a cocktail reception and silent auction, which included a stay at a Tuscan villa, a Bahamas weekend getaway paired with a flight courtesy of Airstream Jets, and a Tequila tasting party courtesy of Rocco’s Tacos.

This year’s candidates raised funds in honor of Daniel Jaramillo, Boy of the Year, and Abby Alonzo, Girl of the Year, who attended the event with their families.
