BOCA RATON, FL – It takes a team to fight breast cancer.

And those teammates – about 300 of them – gathered at Woodfield Country for the seventh-annual “Pink Ribbon Luncheon,” where they honored breast cancer survivors and met local non-profits that receive grant funding from the Komen South Florida Affiliate.

The theme of the luncheon was “Many Faces, One Mission” and served to highlight the different roles volunteers, survivors and grantees play in executing the Komen Affiliate’s mission.

Up to 75 percent of the funds raised by the Komen South Florida Affiliate stays in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties to support local community breast health screening, treatment, and education.

Co-chairs of the event, held Oct. 17, 2012, were Fern Duberman and Gary Pyott. The presenting sponsor was Braman Motorcars Palm Beach, while the gold sponsors were Titan International Security Services, Inc.; The Continental Group; Peter S. Kalikow; and The Breakers. The media sponsor was the Boca Raton Observer.
