PALM BEACH, FL– It was the party before the party, a pre-New Year’s Eve Red Cross ritual that attracted hundreds of Palm Beach’s next generation of leaders and givers to a scene reminiscent of an undersea fantasy.

It was the annual “Red Cross Beach Bash,” nautically-themed this year, presented again by Lilly Pulitzer.

Bobby Leidy, Lilly Pulitzer’s grandson, chaired the planning committee for the sixth straight year. Committee members included Jeff Berman, Amanda Boalt, Mary Victoria Falzarano, Chris Hill, Alexander Ives, Hilary Jordan, Nick Kassatly, Chris Leidy, Carl Loof, Connor and Dusty Macbeth, Stacy Nichols, Katie Orthwein, Lisa Orthwein, Dack Patriarca, Crissy Poorman, Kelly Ring, Siobhan Helen Shea, Andrew and Kathleen Steel, and Erik Waldin.

The party at The Beach Club attracted more than 500 revelers, who were greeted by live mermaids and nautical décor staged by Bruce Sutka. Guests at the sold-out affair dined on surf-‘n-turf featuring fresh calamari, conch salad, lobster mac-n-cheese plus sliders. DJ Adam Lipson provided the entertainment.

Sponsors of the event on Dec. 29, 2012, were Kaufmann de Suisse, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Top Hat Car Wash.

“Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Red Cross Beach Bash another record-breaking success,” said Bobby Leidy. “The event is a fantastic and fun way to support the vital humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross.”
