‘Queer Eye’ Star Carson Kressley Headlines ‘Old Bags’ Luncheon

PALM BEACH, FL – Carson Kressley, former star of the “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” television show, will be the guest speaker at the 14th Annual Old Bags Luncheon benefiting the Center for Family Services of Palm Beach County.

The luncheon will be held March 8, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at The Breakers. Joan Klann and Kitty Silverstein are chairwomen of the event. Judi Richards, Sharon Apple, Erin McGould, and Amie Swan will serve as honorary chairwomen.

Kressley is a stylist, television performer, equestrian, best-selling author and fashion designer. He was also a contestant on the TV show, “Dancing with the Stars.” He will host the new makeover show “Carson Nation” and co-host “Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star” for Oprah Winfrey’s new OWN Network. In “Carson Nation,” Kressley travels to small towns throughout the U.S.

Kressley burst on the TV scene as one of the stars of the Emmy-award winning series “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.” He also launched a collection of men’s and women’s wear exclusive to the QVC network, “Perfect by Carson Kressley.”

His New York Times best-seller “Off the Cuff” is a style guide for men, and he wrote the children’s book, “You’re Different and That’s Super.” Kressley has been a judge on “The CW’s Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants,” a reality series about mothers and daughters competing together in beauty pageants, and his film credits include “The Perfect Man” and “The Year without Santa Claus.”

Last year more than 625 supporters attended the Old Bags Luncheon, with more than 300 designer handbags donated for the silent auction, raising more than $415,000. Proceeds from the Old Bags Luncheon benefit The Center for Family Services’ programs provided to children who suffer from domestic violence, sexual abuse or homelessness. Tickets are $350 per person.
