Roberta and Stanley Bogen to be Honored with Scopus Award

Roberta and Stanley Bogen will be honored with the Scopus award by Hebrew University.

Palm Beach, FL – The American Friends of The Hebrew University, Southeast Region, will honor Roberta and Stanley Bogen at its 2012 Palm Beach Scopus Award Gala on Jan. 28, 2012, at The Breakers, Palm Beach.

Lori and Bruce Gendelman, Barbara and Richard Rothschild, Judy and Robert Snyder and Nancy and Kenneth Stein are chairmen of the event.

Funds raised through the gala will benefit The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the Hebrew University.

The Scopus Award Gala is named for Mount Scopus, the historical site of Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Hebrew University is an academic and research institution and was Israel’s first university. Among its founders in 1918 were Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Martin Buber and Chaim Weizmann. Opened in 1925, the university is located on three campuses in Jerusalem and a fourth in Rehovot. More than 23,000 students from over 65 countries attend the university for its seven academic faculties in the humanities, law, science, social sciences, The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, medicine, and dental medicine. Faculty and alumni of Hebrew University have won seven Nobel Prizes in the last decade.
