American Friends of Hebrew University to Honor Bernsteins

PALM BEACH, Fla.Ambassador Stuart Bernstein and Wilma Bernstein will be awarded the 2014 “Scopus Award” by the American Friends of the Hebrew University.

The gala will be held Jan. 18, 2014, at The Breakers, with proceeds going toward The Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Dinner chairmen are Roberta and Stanley Bogen, Suellen and Melvyn Estrin, Barbara and Richard Rothschild, Judy and Robert Snyder and Robbi and Bruce Toll.

Appointed by President George W. Bush, Bernstein served as ambassador to Denmark from 2001 to 2005. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Council of American Ambassadors and the Diplomacy Center Foundation.

The Bernsteins were also awarded the Scopus Award in 2006, in Washington, D.C.

The Scopus Award, named for Mount Scopus, the historical site of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, recognizes extraordinary support to the university from U.S. residents.
