Schepens Names Chairmen for 2011 Gala

Palm Beach, FL – The Schepens Eye Research Institute announced the chairmen of its 60th anniversary gala, “A Night for Sight,” which will be held Nov. 30, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at The Breakers in Palm Beach.


Colleen Bain, Caroline Collings, Linda Salandra-Dweck, Sandra Krakoff, Anne Moran, Monika Preston, Joan Rubin, Julie Rudolph, Laurie Silvers and Andrea Stark were named chairmen of the event.

Hermé deWyman Miro was named grand honorary chairman, while Judith Murat Grubman will serve as honorary chairman. Kay Lyons, Nancy Raquet and Kathryn Vecellio were named trustee chairmen.

The fashion designer Monique Lhuillier will be the guest of honor, and the program will include a runway show by Neiman Marcus of Lhuillier’s spring 2012 collection

The Schepens Eye Research Institute is an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and is one of the largest eye research institutes in the nation. Founded in 1950 by famed retinal surgeon Charles L. Schepens, M.D., the institute has trained more than 600 postdoctoral fellows in various disciplines of eye research, trained more than 500 eye surgeons who practice around the world, and published more than 4,600 scientific papers and books about health and eye disease.
