Hebrew University Honors Bogens, Gendelmans, Others Prior to Gala

PALM BEACH, FL – Roberta and Stanley Bogen and Lori and Bruce Gendelman were among the leaders honored at a Palm Beach reception by the American Friends of Hebrew University prior to its upcoming 2012 Scopus Award Gala.

Robbi and Bruce Toll opened their home for the reception. The gala will be held Jan. 28, 2012, at The Breakers. Entertainment will be provided by Dionne Warwick.

Guest of honor at the reception were Amb. Carmi Gillon, Hebrew University’s vice president for external relations, and the Bogens, who will be honored at the gala.

Dinner co-chairs for the Scopus event are Lori and Bruce Gendelman, Barbara and Richard Rothschild, Judy and Robert Snyder and Nancy and Kenneth Stein.

Among those attending the kickoff reception were Sherry and Kenneth Endelson and Diane Belfer, who were honored at the 2011 Scopus Dinner. Also at the Toll residence for the kickoff reception were Lois and Martin Zelman, Andrea and John Stark, Laurie Silvers and Mitchell Rubenstein, Marjorie and Robert Emden, Roberta and Paul Kozloff and other AFHU supporters.

Founders Circle supporters for the Scopus event include Diane Belfer, Rita and Ernest Bogen, Sherry and Kenneth Endelson, Michelle and Joseph Jacobs, Joan and Myron Kaufman, Barbara and Jack Kay. Scopus supporters include Bernice Lieberman, Elaine and William Miller, Susan and Darrell Ross, Louise and Michael Stein, Robbi and Bruce Toll, Lois and Martin Zelman, Jane and Ronald Zimmerman.

Proceeds benefit the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which was founded in 1918 by Albert Einstein, Chaim Weizmann, Sigmund Freud and other visionaries. Today the university has a student body of 23,000, a faculty of 1,000 and attracts students from Israel as well as from 50 countries around the world.

The kickoff event took place Dec. 16, 2011.
