Historical Society to Honor Alexander Dreyfoos

PALM BEACH, FLAlexander W. Dreyfoos, inventor, business leader and philanthropist, will be honored at the Historical Society of Palm Beach County’s Archival Evening 2012.

An accompanying exhibition, which is currently being curated, will celebrate his professional and philanthropic career. Dreyfoos, with his partner and friend George Mergens, designed the Video Color Negative Analyzer (VCNA) in 1964, which revolutionized the printing of color photography.

The archival exhibition will premier at the event, Dec. 13, 2012, at Club-Colette in Palm Beach. The evening will also include a cocktail hour, dinner and dancing.

Last year’s Archival Evening honored five photographers – Lucien Capehart, Bob Davidoff, Mort Kaye, Bert Morgan and Richard Morgan – whose work on Palm Beach has received widespread exposure and acclaim.

Honorary chairmen of the event are George G. Matthews and George J. Michel Jr. Grand corporate chairmen are Sonja and Mark Stevens, and archival evening chairmen are Frances and Jeffrey Fisher and Karen and Dan Swanson.
