‘Lady in Red’ Gala to Sizzle with One-of-a-kind Treasures

Palm Beach, FL – A host of celebrities and dazzling live-auction items are the centerpieces of the 18th annual “Lady in Red” gala presented by Leaders in Furthering Education (LIFE). Proceeds from the evening will benefit the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.

The program, Dec. 2, 2011, begins at 6 p.m. at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach.

Special guests will include J.R. Martinez, current favorite on Dancing with the Stars, and entertainment by the legendary Smokey Robinson, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. and renowned pianist Copeland Davis.

Among the live auction bid items is a one-of-a-kind Mini Cooper convertible, donated by Braman Motorcars, exclusively designed and painted by the world-renowned artist Romero Britto. The auto is pictured above along with Lois Pope and Paul David Pope (seated) and (standing, l-r) Toni Holt Kramer and Terry Ebert Mendozza.

Other bid items include a pair of Tiffany & Co. 25th anniversary Paloma Picasso diamond earrings, a magnificent set of 18k earrings and matching necklace layered with diamonds and multi-colored semi precious and precious stones donated by Terry Ebert Mendozza and, thanks to Toni Holt Kramer, a fabulous fur by Somper Furs, furrier to the Hollywood stars.

A grand scale goody bag will be provided courtesy of Jeff Bateman and Jeff Sabean of Tiffany & Co.

Lois Pope, Toni Holt Kramer and Terry Ebert Mendozza chair the gala, with Paul David Pope as junior chairman and Sally and Dick Robinson co-chairs. International honorary chairs are Elizabeth and Jeff Bateman, with Rhoda and David Chase, Nathalie Fernandez, Patrick Park and Ari Rifkin serving as honorary chairs.

Tickets to the Lady in Red gala are $600 per person.

The evening marks the final LIFE gala dedicated to raising funds for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial. The official groundbreaking of the memorial is scheduled for October 2013, in Washington, D.C.
