SNL Comedian, Auction Slated for ‘Old Bags Luncheon’PALM BEACH, Fla. – More than 300 designer handbags will be auctioned at the Center for Family Services’ 16th annual “Old Bags Luncheon,” which will also feature comedian Darrell Hammond.
The luncheon, Feb. 27, 2014, at The Breakers, is chaired by Linda Adelson, Lorrain Hall and Soula Rifkin. Honorary chairs are Joan Klann and Kitty Silverstein and Judi Richards is advisory chair.
Proceeds from the “Old Bags Luncheon” benefit programs provided to children who suffer from domestic violence, sexual abuse or homelessness. Tickets are $350 per person.
Major sponsors of the luncheon include Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. The jewelry sponsor is Kaufmann de Suisse, corporate sponsor is PNC Bank and media sponsor is Palm Beach Illustrated.
Hammond, formerly of “Saturday Night Live,” holds the record for longest-running cast member on the show. He has also been in a number of feature films, television shows and on Broadway. His best-selling book, which chronicled his personal trauma, addiction and recovery, is being adapted into a play.
