Funds raised from the luncheon will go toward Alzheimer’s care, support and research. While there is no set gift amount required to attend the event, guests are encouraged to make a contribution.

Broom, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2007, is a member of the National Early Stage Advisory Committee of the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in Americans age 65 or older. In the next 15 years, Florida will see its cases of Alzheimer’s grow to nearly 600,000,” he said.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest private funder of Alzheimer’s research and has been involved in every major scientific achievement in Alzheimer’s disease for the past 30 years.
