A Dash of Star Power Drops by H.O.W. Luncheon

Television personality and author Dr. Mehmet Oz made a surprise appearance and greeted the sold-out crowd at the Flagler Museum as he joined his wife, Lisa Oz, a speaker at the program.

The luncheon’s featured speaker was Dr. Lee P. Shulman, chief of clinical genetics at Northwestern University, who discussed the latest advances in ovarian cancer. He was introduced by Dr. Robert Knapp, a director of H.O.W. and co-inventor of CA-125, the test used to detect ovarian cancer.
Shelley Golden, co-founder of See Eyewear and ovarian cancer survivor, also spoke during the program.

H.O.W., a program of the Palm Healthcare Foundation, raises funds for ovarian cancer research, presents free educational programs, offers financial assistance to women in need and provides scholarships to medical students interested in gynecologic oncology.
H.O.W. was founded by the late Jacquie Liggett.
