PALM BEACH, FL– A chill blew into The Breakers as more than 300 Palm Beach Day Academy trustees, parents, alumni and other supporters celebrated the school’s annual “Feather Ball” in the wintry-themed Venetian Ballroom.

PBDA parents Sarah Benitz and Helene Lorentzen chaired the event.

Head of School Dr. Rebecca van der Bogert and Board of Trustees President Scott Johnson welcomed guests. A special thank you was given to Louisa and John Cohlan and Margaritaville for sponsoring the event for the 10th consecutive year.

Jan-Marie Coniglio Cook, a faculty member, parent and alumna, served as master of ceremonies and event auctioneer at the evening Feb. 9, 2013.

Live-auction items included exotic trips and sporting events. Guests vying for the more than 300 silent-auction items – many of which were donated by the school’s faculty – were equipped with a handheld device that allowed them to monitor the bidding while perusing the offerings.

A “Call From the Heart,” requesting support for campus safety, closed out the evening’s fundraising activities.

More than 60 auction committee members planned the program, while more than 50 others assisted during the evening.
