The fund-raising heavyweights from last year will be recruiting a new batch of candidates to compete over a 10-week period for the most “votes,” with every dollar raised counting as one vote.

The campaign kicks off Feb. 12, 2015, at The Gardens Mall Grand Court, and will culminate at the Grand Finale on April 24, 2015, at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place. Candidates who raise the most funds will be announced at the Grand Finale, which will also feature a silent and live auction, cocktail reception and dinner.

Mastroianni, of Allied Capital & Development of South Florida, and Elena Peroulakis of the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place, won the award in 2014. Seth Funt, of Seasons Palm Beach, and Devlin, of The Gardens Mall, were runners-up. The 12 men and women in 2014 raised a total of $500,000.

“The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a great way for candidates to network with other influential people in their communities while also providing assistance and hope to blood cancer patients and their families,” said Pam Payne, Executive Director of the Palm Beach Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “Candidates showcase their fundraising and community outreach skills as well as their commitment to the cause.”

All proceeds from the 2015 Man & Woman of the Year campaign benefit the society’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The competition honors local kids who are blood cancer survivors.
