Peter Kostis, Ian Baker-Finch at 19th Hole Club

Peter Kostis, renowned golf instructor and CBS Sports analyst, will be the guest of honor at the American Cancer Society’s 19th Hole Club benefit at The Breakers Ocean Course Clubhouse.

The event, April 14, 2014, will feature putting and chipping contests, dinner by the bite and a golf clinic with Kostis, a cancer survivor, and Ian Baker-Finch, a former British Open champion.

Kostis was one of the original head instructors of the Golf Digest Golf Schools and is a contributing columnist for “Golf Magazine.” He has reported for CBS Sports for 22 years.

Just prior to the benefit, there will be a women’s “Tee Party” and fashion show at The Breakers featuring jewelry from Tamara Comolli Fine Jewelry and fashions by Caryna Nina haute couture.

Chelsea Clinton to Speak at Jewish Federation Event

Chelsea Clinton will be the featured speaker at Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County’s “Main Event.”

The program will be held March 18, 2014, at the Kravis Center.

Clinton, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Sec. of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, is vice chair of the Clinton Foundation.

Honorary chairs for the evening are Ewa and Dan Abraham, Cynthia Friedman, Lori and Bruce Gendelman, and Elaine and Jerry Schuster. Zac Brown Band to Perform at ForEverglades Benefit

The Zac Brown Band will headline the entertainment at the ninth annual ForEverglades Benefit at the Breakers in Palm Beach on February 15, 2014.

Zac BrownThe Grammy-award winning band, including Zac Brown, Jimmy De Martini, John Driskell Hopkins, Coy Bowles, Chris Fryar, Clay Cook and Daniel de los Reyes, has 10 No. 1 hit radio singles and three platinum-selling records. Its latest album debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Preservation Foundation’s Modern Friends Party

PALM BEACH, Fla.Zachary Potter is chair of the Preservation Foundation’s Modern Friends Garden Party.

Dubbed “The Factory,” the party, including cocktails and dinner, will be held April 26, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. at Pan’s Garden, 386 Hibiscus Ave., Palm Beach.

Astanova, Arancam to Perform at ‘Palm Beach Rhapsody’

World-renowned pianist Lola Astanova and Brazilian tenor Thiago Arancam will be the featured entertainers at “Palm Beach Rhapsody” on March 28, 2013, at the Mar-a-Lago Club. The gala concert is a benefit for the Palm Beach Symphony.

The orchestra will be led by the San Diego Symphony’s Music Director Jahja Ling.

Patrick Park and the Park Foundation are underwriting the event, with additional support by Tiffany & Co.

The program includes Harbison’s “Foxtrot for Orchestra;” Astanova performing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue;” Puccini’s “E lucevan le stelle” from “Tosca;” Leoncavallo’s “Vesti la giubba” from “Pagliacci;” Sorozabal’s “No Puede Ser” from “La Tabernera del Puerto;” and Lara’s “Granada.” The orchestra will perform a Foxtrot by John Harbison and conclude with Gershwin’s “An American in Paris.”

Woodward Will Be Guest Speaker at Magen David Adom Gala

Bob Woodward, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author, will be the guest speaker at the American Friends of Magen David Adom’s Palm Beach Gala on Feb. 10, 2013.

Barbara and Jack Kay will receive the 2013 Humanitarian Award. Dianne and Abe Bernstein and Robin and Bob Berman are chairing the gala. Sanford Baklor and Arlene Kaufman are honorary chairs.

Megan Hilty to Perform at AFHU Gala

Actress and singer Megan Hilty will perform at the American Friends of The Hebrew University’s Scopus Award Gala on Jan. 20, 2013, at The Breakers. Hilty was in the Broadway musicals “Wicked,” where she played Glinda, and portrayed Doralee Rhodes in “9 to 5: The Musical.” She’s currently co-starring in NBC’s musical-drama “Smash.”

Barbara and Richard Rothschild will be honored at the AFHU gala.

JUPITER, FL – They gave, and they got.

As a warmup to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Palm Beach gala, “Cirque du Palm Beach II-Encore!” guests at Patrick Park’s Bear’s Club home Dec. 6, 2012, were asked to bring a unique item for the gala’s silent auction or to make a financial donation in support of the gala.

In return, they were treated to a rollicking party, complete with strolling mariachis, dancers and live music.

Geri and Frank Morrow are co-chairs for the Jan. 19, 2013, gala; Patrick Park is honorary chairman and grand benefactor.

“With our amazing Cirque performers, exciting Soul Survivors Orchestra coupled the magical ambiance and fine cuisine of The Mar-a-Lago Club, this year’s gala promises to be bigger and better than ever,” said Frank Morrow.
